    About Acoustic amps

So I have been looking at this Acoustic set-up from musiciansfriend.com. It consists of a B200H 200W bass head and a B115 250W 1x15 cab. The price of it is $400 which seems to be quite a steal in my eyes. What do you guys think about Acoustic amps? Would this be a relevant amp for a guy who...

    La Bella Danelectro Strings

Cool, thanks for the info..I just heard from interviews from John Entwistle and such that they have a pretty cool, piano-like sound to them, and that's the sound I'm kinda aiming for, so I wanted to know if I could use 'em or not.

    La Bella Danelectro Strings

Hey so I was searching through La Bella's small arsenal of flatwounds available for purchase on [Invalid or Expired Link Removed]. Anyways, I looked at the danelectro flatwound and saw it's ridiculous small size. Would these strings fit and work okay on a standard P or J bass?

Bass with the most piano-like sound?

Would an epiphone thunderbird have the quality to produce a piano sound with good enough EQ? I'm talkin' with RS66's too.

How can you convert active to passive?

So I've been looking into buying a BC Rich Heritage Classic Mockingbird bass. Active basses really aren't my cup of tea, simply because I don't like the fact that my bass needs a battery to rock out. I have heard of gutting the electronics, but can anyone give me a step-by-step guide of...

Bass with the most piano-like sound?

So I found this video on youtube of John Entwistle playing from the DVD "The Kids Are Alright", except it's just him isolated. Me and my dad both agree that his sound is irregular from most bass sounds, and instead sounds more like a piano. Do you guys know what bass will give you this kind of...

    Best bass solo

My vote goes for John Entwistle on My Generation. Edit: Or John Paul Jones on The Lemon Song.

    Good bass with passive humbuckers?

Was the EBMM Sub discontinued? If so, where can I find a decent one, used or new?

    Good bass with passive humbuckers?

From all the positive reviews of sting rays, bongos, and/or active basses with humbuckers, it has disappointed me that there are not more quality passive basses with humbuckers, for people like me who prefer passive basses. So I wanna know whats the best bang for your buck passive bass /w...

What sound does a fretless precision bass give you?

Don't worry about my experience with fretless instruments, I've used a fretless MIM fender jazz bass for quite a while now, and I have really adapted to the feel of fretless and intonation and such. I was just wondering what kind of tone a fretless precision would give you, that's all.

What sound does a fretless precision bass give you?

What kind of sound does a fretless precision produce? I think it would probably be good for finger-style funk or motown stuff which require quick muting of the strings and other things. I heard John Deacon from Queen used a fretless precision. I usually play Led Zeppelin (obvious from...

    "Other" Jazz Basses

SX probably makes a decent jazz bass because of all the positive reviews that get posted on here on TB. I am actually looking into buying a SX SJB-62CT jazz bass, or otherwise a SX fretless precision.
