    Ok maybe this will help. If you look at the fretboard, most have a fan design,which according to Sheldon, are designed to keep the fretboard within a "reachable " length. This is designed for comfort with a side effect of reducing the weight. Check out the Lee Sklar model . Oh well drooling...

    I tend to agree, cabinet design (chambering, ect) will either make or break your project. Most of the cabinet makers have at least some workable designs and if you call, most will help you with what you want to do. Cheers and best of luck!

    Dingwall Combustion series 4string. Super P or J very impressive if 5 strings are more your style. Not cheap, but for the difference between them and the high end Fenders, not so much, and the quality shows.
