A guy asked on another forum if it's ok to wire a guitar without pots ? Not sure why, but he has no replies. So, am I correct to assume doing so would be the same as if the guitar has no-load pots set at no-load position ? Or does the tone cap come into play ?

I'm just waiting to change strings before I deal with it.

I'll try re-grounding the terminal, it may be a cold joint. The pot has had grounds soldered to the back of it several times, and may have gotten too hot.

What would make a volume pot not roll all the way off ? It works fine from 10 to 5, then no taper at all from 5 down to 1.
