    coheed and cambria

Ok, so i saw coheed and cambria, between the buried and me, and russian circles at the house of blues in boston last friday. The level of musicianship and showmanship, showmanship especially for coheed, was incredible. I also discovered a fun fact for myself. Brian Cook, bassist for russian...

nearly impossible to get a straight answer

Okay, im not trying to be a smart aleck here, its just that everytime I read a thread where the OP is asking about "what is enough wattage" especially tube vs solid state, i see about 100 different opinions. I know how large this site is so that is not shocking. And its the internet, so i...

RMI Basswitch IQ DI has landed

Haha, toys. Asides from its very handy functions and features, just trying to wrap my head around using this as a preamp in front of the "holy grail", semi-rare sadowsky sa200.

    EBMM Sterling or Warwick Corvette

If it could only be one, id go ebmm, or even sbmm. Its a REAL close call, so you should try both. Someone mentioned the big Al too. After recently watching the ed friedland review im uber upset that im a few $$ short of the big al that was for sale in the tb classifieds for $1200, a super...

disappointed in new fender deluxe pbass

Its funny, i was checking out the mim pbasses cuz ive never owned one and figured adding one to the toolbox. For the most part they were pretty exceptional instrument, especially for under $600. The mims i played years ago were kinda shoddy, but i think fender kicked it up a notch once the...

What is this modded Stingray all about?

Not a bad looking copy, i dig the neck pup placement. If you could try before you buy that would be great! I have a killer OLP stingray 5 knock off that i call the thingray. Ive upgraded it with a nordstrand pup and a john east preamp, series/parallel switch, and hipshot tuners. I boiught it...

disappointed in new fender deluxe pbass

So i was in GC recently and i checked out the new american deluxe precision because i noticed they switched back to a p/j setup (not sure when this happened as i usually dont keep track of these things). It looked nice, and thats where it ended. It sounded ok but not phenomenal, but the thing...

Signature/Artist series basses for semi-famous musicians: why?

I think Mendel is probably recognized more from Foo Fighters, but respected more because of sunday day real estate. I wouldnt mind owning a sig bass if it had all the features I wanted, but i wouldnt pay extra for that name if i didnt have to.

Signature/Artist series basses for semi-famous musicians: why?

All joking aside, there are alot of bassist who deserve signature models (JMJ, namely) and many that dont. But in the end its marketing, not musicianship. Though alot of TB'ers place more emphasis on technique than songcraft. Sure, Adam Nitti can play circles around Macca, but how many Nitti...

    Tribute ASAT bass!

Oh i wasnt trying to be a jerk btw, im very satisfied with the tribute options, which are plenty considering the price range. A G&L US is the only custom bass i would buy, im generally satisfied with standard options on most instruments.
