    Thanks! I think the limiter is the secret sauce there. It’s just a simple Boss LM-2 from the 80s. It has quite a bit of gain past unity so you can use it like a preamp, and it only smushes the peaks so it’s not super noisy. Since the peaks are taken care of, I can turn the overall level up...

    Octave UP Pedal Other Than EH POG

    I’ve got a Boss PS-3 which is pretty cool - not a clean Octave up, but a neat sound. There is a bit of lag on the attack, and you can do weird shimmer/reverb sounds. For a straight up octave (or two) I like the Whammy.
