I've had that one, too. It's excellent! I ended up keeping the MXR mostly because of the form factor and the string of LEDs that shows the amount of compression being applied. That display had helped me dial things in better so that any suckage is all my own.

I have the Pro-JZ6D and Nordstrand NJ4SVs in a 2010 Am Dlx Jass. I found the stock pre-amp to be incredibly noisy (a problem with that year's builds that I understand has since been resolved), so the Audere seems dead quiet in comparison. But I do hear a faint hum through my amp (G-K MB500)...

Precisely. A very useful range of tones out of the Audere that don't color the output of the pups, just pushes them into different directions at the different settings. Love the "passive" sound (middle setting on the Z-knob) -- I feel like I'm hearing the true sound of my bass for the first time.

Great gig with the new pups and pre-amp. I didn't say anything about the upgrade and both the guitarist and drummer commented favorably on the new sound. Definitely recommend this upgrade if you've been thinking about it.
