Me too. I got one as a gift. It was horribly finished. No attention to detail. The fret ends shredded my hands, and the neck was truly awful, as though it were crafted by a seventh grader in woodshop class. I won't sell it because it was a gift from my father. Instead, it will molder in its case...

Almost all the gigs I play these days send the bass through the front of house. And the band I play in has a horn player (alto, flute, clarinet) a 12-string guitar player, a conga player and me, so the music is subtle and not bombastic. It's on the jazz side but with a lot of three-part harmony...

Re returns: I took a needle file to the nasty fret ends, so it ain't brand-new anymore (though it plays better now than it did). Does this void my warranty? Hard to tell if those are pits or birdseyes on the fretboard. Looks like a hell of a bass nonetheless. Good deal for somebody, I'm sure. Good to know those still happen on eBay.
