    Owners of Hartke HA3500

Hi guys, I recently got one of these. I am chuffed to bits with the sound although took some tinkering to start with to find my groove. My question is whether anyone knows where to get a decent protective bag or a flightcase for transport but on a budget. I've fashioned some rubber supports on...

Anyone else got a Fender Modern Jazz V ?

I'm thrilled to death with mine, had it a couple of months; so much variation in the tones you can get with the ability to split down each humbucker. All dat bass for a measly price. Invalid Link Removed Here it is, check it out

Check out my band's new song

Hi guys, we had the pleasure of recording this at Old Smithy, Worcestershire, UK. Which by the way I thoroughly recommend. The producer Woody, is fantastic, in that very studio Judas Priest recorded Nostradamus with him. There's the link, I can't stress enough this is a demo, and we are going...

How do I get a Pick Sound using Fingers?

If you don't want to buy anything that people are suggesting etc etc, simply play very close to the bridge, like an inch away, and pluck hard. I usually play there when my band covers a punk rock song because it suits it with a pick sound

Does anyone know of a less damaging alternative to finger chalk

Hadn't thought of that, although I'd imagine it would create damage similar to that of chalk..

    My recommendation of ear protection.

I did actually consider getting those, but as I wasn't sure from first hand on what kind of protection any set would offer I went for the cheaper ones, maybe those are the next step up :)

    My recommendation of ear protection.

I haven't actually, occasionally I've used normal in ear headphones, but it tends to muffle the overall quality of the sound. I chose these mainly because they weren't expensive in case they turned out to be a waste of money and the positive Amazon reviews I read.

Does anyone know of a less damaging alternative to finger chalk

So sometimes at gigs my hands get sweaty, I'm sure this is the same for most. And of course sometimes plucking becomes, not harder but stranger. I've heard Steve Harris chalks his right hand before playing, but its likely he has the luxury of new strings for each gig as I'm sure chalking strings...

    My recommendation of ear protection.

Elacin ER20S Find these on amazon or ebay for less than £10 Here they are, for a mere price I decided to get some after continued ringing of my ears in the morning, after a gig in particularly close quarters to the drummers crash. I first tried these at our practice studio. I was extremely...

Going from 4 to 5 (merged threads)

The main problem I remember was plucking the wrong string particularly when anchoring on the pup because I was used to four. Takes some getting used to, but totally worth it.

Why a 5? Or, How Much Do You Use That Low B?

I've had a lot of 4's recently switched to a five, as people are saying the low B is a good rest but it is awesome to have more recently I have it in AEADG, I find I use it all the time, particuarly in my bands orginals. Its particuarly handy because we switch from EADGBE to DADGBE quite often...
