    Noooo! RIP John Wetton.

There's a reason why this guy is in my avatar. He is my main inspiration. I used to be a guitarist a while ago, and John's tone + fast and effective playing caught my attention, notably on KC 73-74 albums. I realized that I preferred listening to the bass in most KC songs. When I switched to...

    Sub-bass and Octave...What's the difference?

I made a video some time ago, I compared the Mantic Density Hulk ("Sub-Bass") and the MXR BOD(Octave). Put some good earphones on.

    Montreal-area pedal addicts

Bonjour! I used to be addicted a lot to pedals! Still like them, but it looks like I lost the g.a.s.. Which is good... or not!

    Montreal G.A.S. Station !

Greetings from St-Basile! It's great to see some montrealers in here! Here's my pedal collection, for bass and guitar. Since I'm no more in a band, my pedalboard is always changing. I use it for noodling and experimentation instead of actual songs. Pedals 2014 by macburn posted Dec 22, 2014 at...

John wetton red fuzz bass sound

See this thread: http://www.talkbass.com/forum/f36/wetton-crimson-usa-992537/ If you are looking for Wetton's Overdriven sound, the Wampler Euphoria comes *very* close. This thread made me buy it.

    Wetton - Crimson - USA

I bought the WIIO last year thinking it would sound like Wetton. It's a good pedal, but not exactly what I was looking for. While searching in this forum, I found this: IMO It sounds very similar. Too bad it's discontinued.

Mantic density hulk (DOD Meatbox Clone)

Thanks! The low A sounds weird, that's the lowest note I was able to make. However, it sounded more clean on my other bass, a Lakland DJ4. The G# and lower goes an octave higher. There's some clipping in the video, I don't have a compressor/limiter (yet!).

Here's a demo I made tonight. Be gentle, this is my first demo... ;) http://youtu.be/DVuiB_gl1o4

Mantic density hulk (DOD Meatbox Clone)

I just got mine! Here's my first impressions. Solid looking pedal, well built. It's big, but they are working smaller version of it. It doesn't come with any documentation, so I made some research and found the Meatbox docs on this website: [This invalid link has been removed] It does...

    Looking for a blender/mixer pedal.

I don't know why Wounded Paw's blenders are rarely discussed in blender threads. I never tried one, but I think it looks promising...

MXR Bass Octave Deluxe crapping out

I don't have the same issues, but the MXR BOD is my first and last MXR pedal. Mine will randomly just mute the sound, or very low signal. It always emits LFO noise from other pedals, even bypassed (unplugging the power fixes it). If you search the forums here, you'll find other complaints too.

    Polytope vs Rainbow Machine

I have both the Polytope and a POG2. For the Polytope, think of a synth with many detuned oscillators. It won't make chords. The Rainbow Machine, IIRC, is sequencing the sounds. (pitch intervals). For the POG vs the Organizer, I think the big difference is in the warbling sound the Organizer does.

What's Coming and Going XV: My Baby's Daddy...

Right! Actually forgot it. Probably because I'm very disappointed with my MXR BOD which is hyper noisy (even BYPASSED!) while my Cosmi is on! With an octave, it can get very close to a Moog Taurus sound. Can't wait to try it with the Density Hulk.
