    The end is nigh. We are all out of a job and obsolete.

    I personally don't see the appeal in this. Like Gianni above said, you can get a cheap bass for the same price if you really want a bass sound. Also, those "fretless" simulators always make me chuckle.

    what basses haven't worked out for you... and why?

    I've had a Geddy Lee Jazz Bass MIJ for several years and probably played it a total of 5 times. I hate the neck, way too thin, no shielding in the cavities...The only thing that saves it for me is the Badass bridge.
