E,A,D,G,B. Tune the E to low D as needed (not everyone reads or knows string notes)

I should say that I do this because I hate the HUGE useless low D string getting in the way because I like busy bassists & busy bass lines. The low D has been overdone, a million times over by death metal artists (sorry, not to offend anyone but it's not for me). Anyone can sound like the cookie...

Sorry, I thought this might confuse a couple people.:hmm: Okay...take off your low D string & throw it in the trash. Move your E string to where your low D string used to live. Move all the other strings down in the same direction, which leaves your top string vacant (the G string's old home)...
