    Delano Sonar issue

Hello all I just installed a sonar 2 preamp in my thumb. It's equipped with 2 delano's pickups. I followed the schematics perfectly and I got two problems: I got higher output WITHOUT the preamp when I pull the push-pull volume. Why? The eq doesn't work in this case that is normal. Second...

Opinions On A Warwick RockBass please

I just don't like the shiny finish on RBasses, so when I had mine, I putted it back to a "satin oïl finish" which is much much better. I'm still convinced that the pickups are not really good on these basses [Invalid or Expired Link Removed]

Any 5 string Players happy going back to 4 String bass?

yes, me. 4 strings is quite enough. But I still miss my B string for some grooves :( IMO if someone hesitates, u need both.

Opinions On A Warwick RockBass please

'don't really want to read the all post but I owned a Rockbass Corvette 5 strings and that was a very good bass for the price. Of course you can't compare it to its german version (or the new asian prod) but even if the "Rockbass" logo is on the head instead of the "W" That was a very good...

Entirely agree with you, I used to be a photographer and now I take pictures with my phone... But life is expensive and I do not have a good reflex anymore :(

The official "Show your basses" thread part 19!

Ok I'll try to do that asap. Delano fits on all basses. IMO this is THE pickup everyone needs. Of course you can't make a Rickenbacker sound with a Delano, i.e. On my thumb I can split in passive mode and they are still powerful! I just found a sample of the Warmoth I build. Direct without amp...

The official "Show your basses" thread part 19!

Thanks dude! In fact this is the second set of Delano split coils I install on a bass. First was on a Warmoth that I build myself, second on this one and honesty this is the best pickups I've ever tried. Hot, powerful, clear and it respects the sound of wood. I shall make a sample asap.

Why do so many people in the music industry pronounce "Rickenbacker" incorrectly?

in fact that could be correctly pronouced by an european guy, 'coz we don't say the same "a"..... but I never noticed this fact before (the "RickenbOcker" effect)... Or, like MR Ogle said, use "back" instead of "baker" (i.e.). Ricken-BACK-er. Right.

I'm in too! Streamer Jazzman LX4 (sold) now Thumb BO4 2005. Not the greatest bass I tried, but what a groove machine! I think (IMO) that the thumb is the more representative bass from the "Sound of Wood". Here's a bad pic [Invalid or Expired Link Removed] Yeah yeah the HH behind is a pain...

$1000 and itching to spend on a jazz

Make a Warmoth. It'll be the best bass u can get for this price. [Invalid or Expired Link Removed] Here's the one I made for ~1200 USD, now sold to a friend and it was the best slap bass I ever heard (in jazz style). My goal for this one was to make a slap bass and that was totally...

The official "Show your basses" thread part 19!

Here's my Thumb, just restored.... I bought it used, a month ago in a poor condition. I entirely dismantled this wonderful bass. New bridge, new tuners, new knobs, a big work on the wood to return it to original satin oïl finish and 2 Delano Pickups. This is my 6th bass, I just went back to play...
