The official "Show your basses" thread part 19!

Hi. Yeah, that's all I could find to go on too. No model number or name, no idea if its a budget bass or something a bit more prestige, though if they make them for JPJ they must be decent! The wood is certainly nice. Its been gathering dust in my mates grandmas place for a couple of decades!

Dean isnt' known for high end gear yet made guitars for Jeff Berlin - who has now switched to Cort...and what he plays isn't exactly what you and I can buy.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Andy_Manson_(luthier)
talks about andy manson and his making instruments for jones. The history of the manson link above talks about a hugh manson...and that site has the JPJ signature but shows no other basses. Hmmm.

And I am currently building my 2nd LowDown Instruments Custom build… a fretless 4 string jazz bass.

Here's my Thumb, just restored.... I bought it used, a month ago in a poor condition. I entirely dismantled this wonderful bass. New bridge, new tuners, new knobs, a big work on the wood to return it to original satin oïl finish and 2 Delano Pickups. This is my 6th bass, I just went back to play a few months ago.

Damn great job! How do you like the Delano's? Are they a pretty hot output pup?

Thanks dude! In fact this is the second set of Delano split coils I install on a bass. First was on a Warmoth that I build myself, second on this one and honesty this is the best pickups I've ever tried. Hot, powerful, clear and it respects the sound of wood. I shall make a sample asap.

Awesome, please do. I've been wondering if the Delano's were for me or not. I'm looking to replace the stock pups in my affinity p/j and I'm a fan of active electronics. But if the Delano's push enough, I may go that route.

Ok I'll try to do that asap. Delano fits on all basses. IMO this is THE pickup everyone needs. Of course you can't make a Rickenbacker sound with a Delano, i.e.

On my thumb I can split in passive mode and they are still powerful!

I just found a sample of the Warmoth I build. Direct without amp in the record. Both pickups. This is a JB bass all maple with quality wood (1200 USD of materials without electronic)

On this bass I put a Sonar 2 eq (Delano).
