Looks like an index finger rest so you can use your thumb to pluck the string.
Do you guys know where i can get the thumb rest? It is for my jazzbass ...i've looking for it everywhere...but no one or the store is selling it.....
"Joshmsr" on ebay sells it. I use this guy for all my fender parts.

My Geddy Lee & an Alien headless
California Series Jazz
Jazz Special
The Geddy lee was my main bass for a few years until I found the Special. Same neck but rosewood. Then a month later I found he California Series and that was a huge improvement over both. That Alien was the first bass I bought after the ex-wife made me sell my Rick which, coincidently, is a big part of why she is now my ex.

Do you have an opinion about the Modern Player (CIC) Telecaster basses? I know where there's one for cheap... and been wondering for a hotrod project what a pair of Hammon Darkstars would sound like on there. Essentially, it'd be $500 worth of pickups on a $300 bass. Other than that?

Latest aquisition, Dean Jeff Berlin Player.
Traded in a yamaha RBX375 5 string.
Also have a plain black ibanez 200 but no pics.
We've also got a few acoustic 6's, elec 6's a uke, drums and keyboard. Both my kids play guitar and play at the uke. Drums have been quite of late, I mess about with the ivories.
IN the future...perhaps a semi hollow and my son wants something to slap with, and wants a fender bass (NOT a squier he says) so perhaps a J bass is in my future as it fills both needs. My so also wants a real LP, not an epi. And a mandolin, a better uke too. I want a classical guitar and a banjo.
My wife...well, she wants none of this!

I've played the Modern Player, I think that it would be a great platform to mod. As far as the cost, if you like it, do it. It would be pretty amazing.
