hard for me to tell, on Limelight I think it's the jazz but others say Ric so heck if I know! Just seems a little darker yet fuller sounding to me. I have a Ric but have never gotten that close to Geddy's sound which is the reason I bought the thing 20 years ago.

Here's a section of YYZ. Sounds more like a Jazz to me but with Geddy's tone, it's somewhat hard to tell. And for those that were wondering, these tracks came from the Rock Band game, or one of those guitar games. Get Audacity and search for Original Master Tracks BT on google.

Wanted to make sure people knew these are actual soloed bass tracks, not links to the songs themselves. Some editing was done to bring the other tracks in and out but mostly it's just soloed bass. Lot's of fun to hear the real thing and how he plays.

Here's Red Barchetta which would be the Ric sound from MP. A lot more distortion than I'd noticed when listening to the actual song.

Since the Rick is what the original poster was talking about , I guess an example of that might be better than his Jazz. This is from Closer to the Heart. Again a beautiful thick sound. I wasn't as impressed with the soloed Rick from Red Barchetta although I always loved that sound in the final mix.
