I was about to say the same thing. I don't know any 14 year olds who know who Jaco is, just ones who worship a specific metal/rock bassist. But hey, I was 15 when I started and I knew instantly that Jaco was musical brilliance. 2 years later, I now know it even more so. ;)

Well, imo the Bongo is a million times more versatile than the Stingray. However, 70% of bassists seem to have a huge problem with the Bongo's looks. I don't mind them one bit. The bongo is the most comfortable bass I have yet played. But I like Stingrays too. They may not be as versatile...

My favorte basslines to play are H. by Tool and For Whom The Bell Tolls by Metallica. FWTBT is remarkably simple but extremely easy to get into and enjoy alot. H. is a little mroe complex, but I love that the guitar and bass trade parts between the first and second verses.
