Aguilar DB 810 Bass Cab vs: Ampeg SVT 8X10 Bass Cab

Get both. I have played both through an SVT, and they are equal but different shades of awesome! The Aggie has extended low end and a pointier midrange, the ampeg is tighter. Both are awesome!

New Rig Day - Skunkworks SVT and SVT 212-AV!

Thanks, everyone! There’s a ‘93 810 in great shape not far from me I saw on reverb I might also get. So far it’s all pretty sweet. The harmonics and overtones are killer!

New Rig Day - Skunkworks SVT and SVT 212-AV!

Got a cool couple new pieces - a skunkworks SVT and an Ampeg 212! Never got that SVT growl until now. Got close with an SVT II (non pro), but this thing can get dirty! This is my first time playing through an original SVT circuit, and it’s an entirely different beast. And it’s nice to have a...

New Bass - First Spector NS-2 "Tiger Eye"!

Ghost AT - definitely not going to be my last Spector! I did just put on a hipshot D-Tuner that I got for Christmas, which just significantly raised the cool factor.

Bass Boy, if that bass in your avatar is yours, that's pretty sweet too!

New Bass - First Spector NS-2 "Tiger Eye"!

Just got this awesome Spector NS-2 from Ish guitars near my home in Syracuse, NY. The first Spector in "Tiger Eye"! It's beautiful, and sounds great, too. Through my DB751 and GS410 the sound is heavenly. Very growly. Just wanted to share! Specs: Premium Quilted Maple body Tiger Eye...

Got to try the Ampeg SVT 8 Pro...

I happened on an SVT 8 Pro from music go round, and jumped on it. Well, 15 minutes in and POP, flames and smoke, and the fault light on. They said if I wanted it fixed they would pay for it. Took it to a reputable music store and they said that the class D PCB suffered damage from an explosion...

New Amp Day! SVT II Pro

Tanks, Jimmy and bass45. Jimmy, I've long read your posts and appreciate all the information you post. It's steered me right several times:bassist: PS - not quite in so much trouble with the fiancé anymore. I don't think she noticed the new amp!

New Amp Day! SVT II Pro

I find that with the drive control it really mimics the power tube distortion of the non-pro. Also, I find the drive control makes the ultra low usable, in that it brings in more mids to the sound that the ultra low scoops out. I also use the bright switch. On the non-pro, the ultra low is a...

New Amp Day! SVT II Pro

New to me - SVT II Pro. I haven't seen one like this before, with the old style graphics and a speakon output. As an owner of a SVT II (non pro) I have to say I like the pro version better. I like the drive control and the gain control. With the drive control at noon, the gain at noon, and the...

    Why do you dislike OD/dist/fuzz

JimmyM, I agree with you. It took me YEARS to get my ears around my big muff. But now I am in fuzz heaven. And another agreement with distortion making you sit in the mix better and avoiding volume wars.
