    My bass weighs a ton..

In a unofficial manner it weighs around 11 pounds. For the most part it is not a problem anymore. Now, I'm like that cowbell producer character, except I just want more of the tones I get from this 5. It has piezo pickups (not normally found on this model), so right now I get this stand up bass...

    My bass weighs a ton..

Yep, I so do yoga! P90X yoga. I'm in my second week. Love some P90X. This time around I'm running after the doing the heavy work and Ab Ripper X. Sweet. Thanks to all of you for the great, helpful vibe in this thread. Talkbass is AWESOME. Namaste.

    My bass weighs a ton..

I can't believe I see the word Bloomberg in a Talkbass forum. He is a tool. Pretty much the only news worth watching is ESPN. If it makes it to FB then I pay attention otherwise it all turns out to not mean much of anything. Anyway, the bass sounds crazy awesome, and now that I'm playing it...

    My bass weighs a ton..

Not to handle the weight. To get my body a little stronger in specific areas. It's just a bit heavier than my other one, so my body needs a bit more muscular conditioning. Thanks to all of you again.

    My bass weighs a ton..

First, yes this bass has a sound you would not believe! It's a noodler's nightmare, because near everything you play sounds so crazy awesome, it's easy to get distracted and not actually practice. Now for real the advice I got on here is fantastic, and for the most part so much more in depth and...

What exercises can I do, as I will not complain. This bass is one of the, "ONES". You know? Like no matter what. I'm a fit man who exercises and runs regularly. What specific exercises should I do to strengthen up my bass supporting muscles??? Thanks TalkBass. You guys ROCK!!!Black Limba...

"Official" Carvin and Kiesel Club - Part 3

Uh the SB is swamp ash body with a Flame Koa top. Weighs about 9.5. Regarding the Black Limba/ birch, the benefit is a tone you would not believe. Just deep inky resonant black. Crazy. The limba looks super awesome too.

So.. I'm 45 and don't play an instrument. Little help...

Buy a Carvin if you can. My first bass was a Flame Koa fiver. I feel the same way you do, as far as getting something good to start! For real. New or used, the SB5000 and others are just amazing for the money, tone, feel, adaptability, etc. Don't shop GC if possible. <Rant. GC is the devil...

45 Most Powerful Images of 2012

And the, "news" does nothing but continue the trend. Stopped watching the news like 12 years ago. I feel fine. And so far I've not missed much. I hope the pebble rolling down the hill one day runs out of snow..

New at bass, 5 string dilemma, which way to go?

Yes. I'm talking exactly about that. I fully believe and endorse the floating thumb primarily because of ergonomic benefit. And because my first bass was a 5 after being told in many ways it was the much more difficult path due to the B. It is this pervailing message which leads to the idea to...

New at bass, 5 string dilemma, which way to go?

RANNNNT. T Highly against the technique required to use B string as a freakin thumb rest! Jeez, if you are going to get the five use it as a five from day one.

    Getting an Album Reviewed

First song is ok. Simple lyrics, straight line song. Interesting singer voice, overall the song experience is kinda boring in a sound alike kinda way. Good clear recording, felt like it needed more even mixing. I'd say you need better more interesting something to get anywhere. Nothing about the...

    How can I improve?

Do you know that Bo Jackson started doing pushups for hours and hours? Had no gym, so did what he could in the most single minded, focused way possible. You might think about that. The thing you want to realize right now, today, and hopefully never forget is, this is not a sprint. In fact...

    Review my band's video

Ok. The music is pretty alright. Unfortunately, I hit the fast forward button about 45 seconds before the video sort of settled down. Way too much camera movement, not enough settled, clear focus. Can't imagine anyone professional did this on purpose. I can feel the bouncy camera thing for a...
