I hear ya - am going to mod a Mexi Jazz instead and just leave the Geddy alone....even going to keep the plain white pick guard. Such a great bass.

good points above --- it's really not worth it for a one time gig - anyone using Meth, Coke and Heroin is dangerous to themselves and others - and what if she shows up loaded? Even is she can sing - doesn't mean she would be a good front person. This is not someone you can work with moving...

Bummer on being out the $1200 or so a month? For the gig... Amps are scary in the church world sometimes --- you can be "too loud" just by showing up...also --- and I'm sure this will resonate with Church Bass Players... You can be having an awesome praise and worship session --- people...

Check out Invalid Link Removed - they make some great microphones - also make a very cool product called "the cabgrabber"... Audix mics are built super solid - our drummer swears by them. They are from Portland, OR (like me) so got to go with the home town gear.

nice finish on the body - SR 800 or variation of...I had an SR 800 GN that I loved but the knobs crapped out on me...neck is nice...nice bass...worth $225...
