Help me decide: with or without?

Honestly it looks stunning either way. I think the pick guard makes it pop a little more. Beautiful

Pickup wiring help needed - 2-wire to 5-wire

I It wasn't my help. I am just a curious bystander who is considering a jazz bomb for my BBP35. Glad to hear it's working well, though!

    Sade - off pitch?

I'm not sure how it came off that I'm criticizing Denman in any way. He's one of my favorite bassists. As for me? I play along with recordings in my free time. I'm not even in a band. I'm just a hobbyist asking a question.

    Sade - off pitch?

Thank you! Glad you enjoyed it. Paul Denman is a great bassist. Very tasteful and serves the songs very well.

    Sade - off pitch?

I guess what I mean is when I tune my bass to A440 and play along with the track my bass is not in tune with the bass track. So I sound out of tune. Playing along with the track itself it sounds bad, imo. Its pretty obvious to my ears, but I hadn't seen any mention of it online (tabs, grok...

    Sade - off pitch?

I'm not trying to blame anyone.. lol. When I play along with my bass it clearly isn't tuned the same, hence my question.

    Sade - off pitch?

I'm a big fan of Paul Denman's bass lines with Sade and Tar Baby is one of my favorites. However, the pitch seems off to me. I don't see any mention of an alternative tuning nor does Grok seems to think its anything other than standard tuning. Grok does say older recordings can be slightly off...

    Pickguard advice for BBP35

Well I went ahead and ordered both Moonstone and Sangre del diablo. For posterity, in case anyone has a similar question in the future, here's how they look. I think Moonstone fits what I'm wanting, but Sangre looks pretty cool as well. Also attaching to the original color (cream) someone...

    Pickguard advice for BBP35

Hey all. I just picked up a midnight blue Yamaha BBP35 recently and want to replace the pickguard. Love the bass but not that cream pickguard. Looking at pickguard planet, I'm thinking that black perloid would be the classy, safe choice. But if I want a bit more pop without going crazy, I was...

    New Color for My BBP35

This looks amazing! Is this the tort brown shell? Color 41 on pick guard planet? I'm not really fond of brown as a color, more interested in red, but this looks elegant and rather subtle!

A dose of perspective on GAS

The truth bombs in this thread are..... Depressing.

Is there a Yamaha BB club? There is now!

Brought home a new addition today. I finally got pulled the trigger on a BB2000 to add to my collection. The action is higher than I'd like and I'm not fond of the strings, so I can't wait to get a proper set up and some Sunbeams on her. I can already tell she's a serious tone monster -...
