    Early 70s - just out of the Army, auditioned for a Chicago area band which had charted fairly frequently in the mid-60s and shall remain nameless. By then they had added a girl singer and I think they were mostly doing weddings. I didn't get the gig 'cuz I "couldn't sing high enough", even...

    The most and less durable stage basses

    My '65 JB fell off the stage (or was kicked off by various inebriated drummers) many times back when I was doing 30 sets a week, 50 weeks a year, sometimes as far as 3 feet down. Knocked a lot of paint off, but it still played fine - I'd probably still be playing it if some lowlife scumbag...
