I make basses with my younger bro. Here's a passive lined fretless we made two times. While we have always ordered wood from Brazil for the bodies, this one was made from good old Alder.

Miss G, I'm a tort lover; but I've gotta say that black p/g looks great on that bass. The rosewood looks dark enough to where it doesn't clash with the black p/g. And the black is a perfect match for that strap! If you do get a tort guard, I think the brown tort would look much better than the reddish tort. Just my opinion...

I thought long and hard about swapping the PG on the 5-string out with a tort (or possibly black) one, but the look of the gold PG has really grown on me lately.
