I now have a red DeArmond in addition to my ivory Guild!! The Guild has the thunderreds on it and I really enjoy them - longer sustain than on the thundergut strings which I have on the DeArmond. I really do enjoy these little basses! How are the thunder blacks, compared to the thunder guts?

Hi chadds, Thank you. I saw that the original instructions are to use an overhand knot. Whoever strung the reds didn’t do that. I will destring and restring using the knots, and gently snug up the pegs. The diam of the red G string is much smaller than the original string type and I will try...

Hi, I now have the 1st ashbory from 1988. I need help with stringing with Thunder reds, and with setting the peg style tuners. It has Thunder reds on it, and the way they are wound on the peg, they are slipping. I’m new here.
