I'm about to go amp shopping, and I've heard good things about GK's Fusion550 tube/solid-state hybrid head. ([Invalid or Expired Link Removed]) Has anyone played one of these? What do you think? Any recommendations for cabs to go with it? Thanks.

I was just at the Stanford jazz workshop where Larry teaches, and he mentioned that getting a "big" sound has more to do with good left hand technique than the attack of the right hand. You can have a big sound and be playing incredibly quiet. Also, he plays a large 7/8 bass. Hope that helps.
