The V3 has the same tone as the V7 and V12. As far as I can tell, the preamp is the same. The primary difference is the power amp and the compressor. One nice thing the V3 has is the speaker combo jack, so you can use a NL2 speakON or 1/4 inch cable. The V7 and V12 have NL2 speakON...

I agree, this is my experience as well. It's not just a distortion pedal circuit. It's more of a voicing switch with EQ presets and the ability to add distortion.

Yeah maybe they are Labella quarter rounds. seems like a strong possibility. The more I play them the more convinced they are not flats. Could they be d'Addario half rounds? Or GHS pressure wounds?

Yeah, it's baffling that there is no silk at either end, yet they appear to be either flats or ground/pressure wound. Thanks a lot for your help.

Well, they are smoother than rounds and do not have much string noise when shifting positions ( no screeching) so I do not think they are rounds. I think they could be ground wound or pressure wound, but I'm not sure as I've never had those type of strings before. Or could they be LaBella...

37 1/4 for the E and 38 1/4 for the A. I thought Labellas had silks??

Sure does! I had one of those back in the day. Had forgotten all about it!

So those have silks, right? Wouldn't I have to cut the silks off? If so, it seems like there may a risk of the strings unraveling.
