I think warlocks are one of the ugliest basses ever built, if not the ugliest. I don't think I'm the only one but to each his own I guess. :p Fender type bodies have grown on me. I never thought I'd own a black/maple peavey fury especially since it has a white guard but it looks stunning IMO.

I'm not currently on the market for basses, so that explains my vagueness. But I will revisit the shop and really inspect it and if this bass surprises me, so be it. :) Thanks for the support, guys.

I don't have a good camera so I don't think taking pics would help much. But it looks pretty okay. it's red (no jetglo or burst of any kind) and the strangest thing I noticed was extra glue between neck and fretboard.

I went to a couple of local music shop looking for a speaker cab cable. The guy tried to convince me instrument cables worked fine.:D Anyway, there was this Ric '01. It's got a few visible dings, etc. I'm not sure exactly what year it was fabricated. Haven't played it through an amp but...

Oh, that explains it. I didn't know this bass used a blend pot. I guess I'll leave my blend vs. vv issues for another day so as to not hijack this thread. :D

Stupid question but how do you solo/blend the pickups with one master volume? I have a vvt passive pj bass and this is what's kept me from considering an active pj.

No, OP really does mean Zodiac EX. I own a BXP and the more I play it, the more I love it. :D I was most impressed with the neck. Really low action even on the higher frets and easy to reach the first fret. It is the same as the EX's, at least in width. I don't know how they compare tonally...

I would advice against the Acoustic cab. If you're on a budget, I would look into the Carvin BR410. Haven't tried it myself but from what I've heard, it can't be worse than the Acoustic B410.
