    Latest on T/bird pro faulty fret problem. I took the bass back to the dealer again they said "we'll have to have our Luthier who is authorized and endorsed by Gibson/Epiphone to gain an assessment of any underlying problems relating to the guitar" So they did that and he said " its fret wear...

    well that's all very nice, I just hope you don't have the same defective fret wire problem that I have with the same model t/bird pro bass that I bought! For more exposure Go to...'Search Forums with Internal Search' on this site and enter 'splitting frets' Or even better go to 'Epiphone...

    I've never had this problem with a bass, ever, If you saw me you'd be surprised, I'm really quite thin and I imagine average strength. I think the frets are outrageously substandard and have gone wrong in the making, which was in China!

    Doesn't this suggest that the fret wire is very soft and therefore substandard?

    I've had this bass, from new , for three months. I use it to rehearse for 3 hours once a week. I cant be that heavy handed, I'm not the Hulk! I,ve also ,never, had this problem with any other basses I've had. I think the fret wire must be very soft and therefore substandard?

    ...also if it is roundwound strings wearing a groove into the frets, then the quality of the frets must be terrible, I mean its never happened on any other bass I've had
