Our first album - first song online

Hi! My band (or the band I am part of) are releasing our first album in a few days and we have released one song through the web. It's pretty exciting time, though the response and sales can get only mediocre at best given we a part of a niche-of-a-niche market (christian rock with finnish...

Amateur musicians working with a producer

Thanks everyone! A few replies in case you are worried: ;) The copyright and payment side is as you adviced - so no worries there. We will be working in his studio with him or his house engineer, so in that regard things should go smoothly. And we are planning on havin fun, don't you worry!

Amateur musicians working with a producer

My band is set to record our first full lenght (with the money mostly coming out of our own pockets, which is sort of the norm in the scene we are part of) this year and we have gotten in touch with a producer who has made some name for himself nationally and produced some albums we like. Also...

    Quotes after a show

We always get "whoa, you have improved" or "you have such a good spirit" and we always take it as "I have nothing good to say about your music but I'm trying to be nice". :)

    The 610 Search Continues...........

I have been using an Ashdown ABM 610 for a few months now. Not going to analyze it very much since I think I lack the experience to compare it to many others, but here's something: It's three sealed 210's and sounds like it too, tight and "growly" (whatever it means...). Had a pretty good...

Brought a beat-up Jbass into practice...

Yeah...this was my poor attempt at making fun of the premise that a forum newbie starts by asking what's the best bass for a certain genre. :p Mostly I'm just wenting the GAS and seems like it's working (apart from browsing a lot of sites that sell basses). Thanks for the replies though!

Brought a beat-up Jbass into practice...

Bah! Words of wisdom, who wants to hear those? :) I quess taking it for a spin to a luthier's would not be a bad idea. The bass however has some issues like two extra holes in the body the previous owner had drilled to install some extra knobs but didn't. I bought the bass in the condition it...

Oh my bad, it's us silly Europeans (or just Finns, not sure) that call B H, I'll fix that. :)

Brought a beat-up Jbass into practice...

Yesterday I brought my recently optained cheapo-no-name jbass (headstock says Action 2002 and the legend tells of far eastern origins) into practice, soloed the bridge pickup, went to town with it and watched the drool drip from the bandmember's mouths. I mean holy...
