Sorry to resurrect this thread, but by reversing do you mean I could solder the P pups black & white wires flipped? As in use the white as ground? Sorry for the stupid question... brand new to DIY electronics. Thanks!

Thanks for the info! Still deciding on what pup config to go with on my strat. Here's my boys: Link Removed All less than a C note, a little TLC and they rock; the HB on the Squier strat is a little microphonic, but it does ok. All 3 play sweet! :D

Those D90s sound pretty good in the bridge? I'm thinking of installing the HB shaped one in my HSS Squier Strat; back to the triple single coil sound with a bit of a twist. Two singles in the neck & middle, and D90/P90 in the old HB slot at the tail. :)

I have a P bass special as well, and I like the sound of it a bit better. I also tend to run the Jag with the boost down, or at 1/4 up, which can be done at my amp. According to all specs I can find, the pups are the same. Maybe Fender thinks the bass is thin sounding, but I'd like to find out...

I knew they were passive, just wondering if I had to get someone to pull the boost out to be completely passive. I'm not very electrical. :) Thanks for answering my question! :D

Hey all. Question: I've got a Squier Vintage Modified Jaguar Special Electric Bass. It's got passive pups, but a bass boost preamp. By turning the boost all the way down, does it become a passive pup bass? Thanks ahead! :)
