Do all cabs feel like a compromise?

Schreoder cabinets are not a compromise. They are a reasonable price relative to the market. Fantastically light weight. And so punchy. I use 2 112pl with a Momark 800 for funk, blues and whatnot. Or one cab with a Walter Wood for acoustic bass. I would like to buy some of his other models but I...

Favorite lightweight bass cab with good low-end?

I've been using a pair of Schreoder PL 112s for 6 months now and could not be happier. Punchy and clear. Reasonably priced relative to the market. Easy to move. Sounds good with all styles. I moved my old SWR 410 for the last time this weekend. Call Jorg. You will like him.

Anyone had experience importing a guitar with a rosewood fretboard this year??

I got a Sire in March with rosewood. Picked it up in Washington, crossed over the Canadian boarder with it. No issues.

What cab? 4 Ohm, >= 500 watts, ~<30 lbs, cheap

Schreoder. Cheaper than most. I have 2 PL 12s. Easy to move. Punchy, thick, good on a jazz gig with one, full on electric with two. Jorge Schreoder is a great guy as well.

Sire vs Fender for 50th birthday

I just received a V7. I used it on a couple of gigs already and really enjoyed it. I prefer it over the Fenders that cost twice as much. Fender has no preamp. And the preamp in the Sire is very good. The hardware on the Sire is cheap. I don't really like the plastic knobs on the preamp. I may...

12's?!! For Bass?!! Oh come now! Really?!!

Schreoder PL 12. The best. No more 410 for me. Two PL 12s weigh less.

    Backup bass, what's your idea?

88 Tobias 5 string Sire backup. Good for blues gigs too.

Amp feature that you find usefull in a gigging situation

The VLF and VLE on a Momark 800 seem to be most of what I need. I hardly touch them but sweepable mid are a must as well.
