The active EQ of the Sires is probably one of my favourite things about the Sires, tried an old generation V3 in a music shop and LOVED the tones I could get from it with even the most basic of amps. Was able to get P, J, and metal bass tones within a minute of picking up. Hope to pick up a new...

I have one bass, I have her named Delilah. On that note though I name all my instruments after flowers, my acoustic guitar is Rose, and my ukulele is Dahlia, I have two other electric guitars, but I haven't named them, as well as a mandolin, but it isn't mine so I won't name it.

If I had 2k I'd be going for a used Dingwall 9 chances out of 10, otherwise I'd go higher end Dean or Warwick and spend the rest on bass lessons :laugh:

Being a Pantera fan, Dean has definitely been in my life before. I might have to check out if I can spot a good Dean Edge 1. As well next time I'm in town will definitely be going in to L&M to try out some Ibanez 5ers and hopefully a Sire V3

I've heard a lot of praise about the Ibanez's, will have to try them out next time I'm in to town.

No preferences, it's all stuff I don't really care for, and I just get used to.

Plus pickups do change the sound, I have several lower end guitars that the pickups were so muddy and bad, I switched some decent second hand pickups in to them and they made a world of change
