$2K: Which would you buy?

Listen to 3:45 to 4:08. With a slap tone this good, it surely will sound excellent with any technique as far as I'm concerned...
The active EQ of the Sires is probably one of my favourite things about the Sires, tried an old generation V3 in a music shop and LOVED the tones I could get from it with even the most basic of amps. Was able to get P, J, and metal bass tones within a minute of picking up. Hope to pick up a new generation V3 soon!What happened to practice being the cure for GAS?
But since you asked- I’ve been considering a Jazz to compliment my Precision. So I’d probably want to play with the Geddy for a while and see if it’s a good fit. I’ve also heard nothing but good things about the Sires, but IDK if I’d gel with the active EQ. Curious about the vintnera 70s necks as well.
but in all honesty I’ll probably be getting a Squier or MIM Fender and putting the rest of my money into my amp.

I voted Sadowsky. That Sandberg is certainly nice though but I have issues with mixing P pups with other pups. If it had a J pup, I'd be all over it.
As I said before, the VM5 has the most versatile electronics of all the basses I mentioned.
Doc, if I might make a suggestion that’s not on your list, I’d recommend finding a EBMM Big Al 5 SSS. They are rare because they’ve been discontinued, (there’s one on eBay for $1800 right now, no affiliation).
I own a 4 SSS and you won’t find a more versatile bass for tonal possibilities. Active/passive, does P, J, MM, even EBO pretty darn well. The neck is absolutely amazing (oil and wax finish on mine). It has a funky shape (which I love but many don’t), but it balances well. It’s a USA EBMM so quality is top notch. These basses are highly underrated.
Just my $.02 but I think you’d love it if you tried it.

True, more, but not a lot more. By about $250-$350 for HH.... not too bad. Used they are going for around $1,850. H's are less.
lots of Sandberg recommendations. They are all right.
I personally would go for a Sire V7 and spend the rest of the money for some bling bling for my wife.
Suffering badly from GAS, this instrument wound not be the last purchase and further strategic actions should be made to distract my wifes attention.

I am thinking of two possibilities: keeping the Geddy and selling some other stuff; accepting that I like what the Sandberg can do tonally more than the Sadowsky. Maybe I should accept that Sadowsky GAS may never be squashed if I act rationally instead of emotionally. Rationally, the Sandberg and Rickenbacker are the ones that bring something fresh to the table.
They're all nice basses, but... which one would I buy? To be perfectly honest, I'd have to say - none of them. For 3 reasons;
1. As tempting as the Rick is (and I have 3 already), I have no need or desire for a 5-string bass. So, most of the other ones on the list are out, too;
2. Several of them (including the Rick, AFAIK) aren't available as a lefty; and
3. None of them would fill a spot in my herd, even if they were 4-stringers. There's only one spot still open, and... they don't qualify.
But, that's just me. I imagine you'd be happy with any of them. And, in other circumstances, so would I...

a tiger?
Zebra wood is marketing! It 's laminated wood with different colours.
That does not make it bad. Real "Zebrano" which is natural, looks like this
