I was going to buy the DDT DR strings when I noticed there are heavy, medium and regular. What are the differences? I only tune down a whole step. Should I go for regulars?

I was wondering what peoples suggestions are for drop down tuning, Some suggestions on strings? I've always gotten whatevers cheap, but I'm starting to here and feel the differences.. I have an ESP LTD f 4. The stock strings are pretty awfull.
