    I'm making this suggestion based on my own experiences of synths and tracking (having owned the G5, EHX MS, Roland VB and MarkBass SS) and was never really happy with the results using actives. Old Skool P basses were a different story...:)

    That's good and the lack of one wouldn't put me off a purchase. In my experiences the a/p switch provides a 'level playing field' for active basses to start with.

    ...count me in. No battery supply needed, active/passive switch would be nice.

    The wear looks fine with me, I've got a similar sunburst '76 LH P that has worn in a similar fashion.

    HH Electronics Bass Machine

    Brilliant head, used to use one that was abandoned in a rehearsal room in N. Wales until a few years back - stunning compressor !!! Increasingly rare but once a pretty common sight with most British pub bands. BTW HH did the modular guitar amp thing years before MarkBass did the MoMark.
