And you would only run one cable to the main mixer which leaves space for other signal sources.

How about sub-mixing your bass signal?

Well, I thought mixing the three (different sounding) signal sources to my liking and keeping control over it would be a good thing. I haven't tested it yet so there might be no benefit at all but from what I've heard, many bass players like the combination of a D.I. signal and a mic'd speaker.

Oh and it might enable me to mix my IEM, right?

How about sub-mixing your bass signal?

I thought about getting a small sub-mixer to place in-between my Ampeg Pf-50t and the FOH main mixer in live situations. I could mix both balanced line outs plus the mic'd cabinet to form the sound that I like and then send it to the main mixer to adjust the FOH sound to the room specs etc. It...

Is there a Yamaha BB club? There is now!

Hello BB-Club members, I do not own a Yamaha Broadbass yet but will be getting a BBP35 soon. @40Hz Thank you for your elaborate and detailed comment. The compressor and the preamp are always on. As is the HPF obviously. The octave pedal and the overdrive only when needed. I thought it would be good to start from the THAT MAKES TECHNICALLY SENSE point.

    Philosophy behind a signal path

@el murdoque I would use the D.I. of my Eich T900 amp. So the HPF should go between the BB-1X (overdrive) and the BB-1X (preamp), right?

Yes, to put the compressor after the overdrive is definitely an option I have already considered as it can tame the overdriven signal to my taste (if I understand correctly). Thanks!
