When I use a cover on one of my P's I cut the foam where the strings are so it's more like a Nordymute. That way it squeezes from the side rather than pushing down, which would knock the intonation out of place.

I grabbed a Vintera III neck for mine. I'll post pics soon. Waiting to get the new USA model in before I post pictures.

His #1 has a custom shock neck because he wore out the original. That has pearl blocks and white/cream binding

I think this model came out in 1998 and Sting didn't lose the pickguard on his bass until 2005. I took the pickguard off my AVII 54 because there's no route on the top like the Sting model has under the pickguard.

That's pretty light for a solid maple body. I had a west ham model that was 13lb

I found I had the same style dead spot and what fixed it for me was putting a piece of foam between the tailpiece and body. totally ate the vibration from that and cleaned up the spot.

I didn't leave the signatures stock at all. All three have Brantley pickups in them and proper Badass II bridges. The MIJ is decent, but it's the sunburst one so that's usually set for Drop D stuff and it doesn't get played out that much other than for one or two songs. The USA is fantastic...

Thanks, Scott. I'll have to see if I can get that duplicated to at least the profile of the USA model. That'd help out a lot.

Go for a more aged pearl so you can match the binding and inlay better. I've read Geddy's actual bass has aged pearl and that's kind of what I remember seeing up close when it was at the RRHoF a few years back. I have no idea why they went with white pearl for the sig model.
