Can anyone weigh in on the differences between the MK1 Barts and the BH2s? I own an SR500, and am looking at picking up one of the new SR505E, but am curious about the difference in sound. Thanks.

And that's what I've worked on avoiding. I actually cut a bit of bass to try and cut back on the boominess. I also crank the mids and treble. I ask people who sit out in the audience and they say they can't hear my bass.

That's what I'm discovering. Flats sound great in the bedroom or in appropriate recording contexts. But live? You need rounds.

That's exactly how it's run. Everything flat.

I'm thinking more they don't know how. It's a new board, but the sound people working now didn't set it up, so they aren't entirely familiar with fine tuning the channels.

We're hopefully getting some people from Sweetwater to come and help us get everything really set up. The board as it sits now was set up by a guy who ran sound for musical theatres, so I'm not convinced it's optimally set up for a more concert-like setting. I'd love for flats to work. But...

I haven't thought of that. Sometimes I would solo the neck pickup for songs that needed a P-bass type sound, but never the bridge. The SR500's bridge pickup is kind of thin sounding, so maybe I would add a little extra bass. Thanks for the suggestion!

Do you have a set you would recommend? I never see any sets outside of talkbass, except for the Dadarrio Black Nylons at GC.
