Winter NAMM 2019 (ultra Pic-heavy)

I talked about it in another thread but Fender released the new Duff signature model. Build quality is identical to his other signature model they ran for him over A decade, seems to have gained blocks, A pickguard , a D-tuner and lost A knob. I really like the satin finish on the Fender performer series. That jazz you see me with had A pretty terrible set up though. That weird orange bass Was at the Reverb booth, I believe it's some model they will maybe be making? Had no branding but one of my favorite basses....of day 1 that is.
What is it with people bringing doublenecks to NAMM that are built so you can't play the first few frets on the upper neck without the back of your hand hitting the tuners on the bottom neck? I've seen at least 10 different ones over the years. From nameless asian import companies all the way up to high end luthiers.
The orange one is a Serek. Same as the doubleneck in the post below yours.
Made in Chicago, so he's tight with CME/Reverb.
Great something more to GAS over , I didn't see any maker marks on it probably from not being able to focus on anything for more then 13 seconds and thought maybe A one off custom bass for reverb, looks like not! Thanks for the info
Dang it!!!!!!! That was one of the last ones on my bucket list!!!!!! I'll have to keep my eyes open for a good used one then.......

Edit: The Burl Poplar and Walnut Satin are $789. Much less costly than I imagined.

Yep sadly there was no 4004 models on the floor, expected that. I didn't see anything new for Rick, just the newish released at namm 2018 5 strings.

I have gone almost every year since 1988 (drove to all of them, sometimes multiple days). I had a few years off here and there, and didn't go last year or this as the thrill has gone. I have grown to hate conference and trade shows, though I still end up having to go from time to time. Week after next I'm speaking in NYC - only upside is I will get to swing by the Fodera shop, weather permitting.
I do miss talking to people F2F at NAMM, but I think it is in my rear view mirror at this point. Making room for others
I hear ya. I'm just the wrong type for SoCal, in so many ways. Especially when it comes to complete dependence on motor vehicles. But I've only been to NAMM 4 times, I might have a few more in me eventually.
@wintremute Thanks for all this! I'd love to see pics of the La Bella booth. They were teasing some big changes, but haven't followed up.

Just an FYI, Verdine White will be stopping by the Sadowsky booth (#5129) at NAMM at 11AM on Sunday.
I'm really digging the trends right now with basses. I like that we're seeing a bigger variety of scale lengths and more multi scale basses from more brands. It's also cool to see the latest take on the whole vintage/modern hybrid type stuff that to me includes everything from the Devon basses super Jazz type stuff to the Dingwall D-bird.
Other than the Russians and the Italians, it seems that there are a lot more new finishes than new designs (which would be expected).
