What I want is Chorus, Flange, Distortion, Reverb, Delay, a tuner and volume-expression pedal. All of the multi-effect rack units I've seen are for guitar. I may have to go for a multi-effects floor unit. Then I could put a power condition in that extra rack space.

Ebay has bags and there are many manufacturers who make portable gear racks that will fit the LH500. Just look up 2-space or 4-Space racks on Amazon.com or ebay.

That sounds reasonable. But If it went away when you sat on it, I would think it was something external to the amp. If warming it up doesn't do the trick you could try popping off the casters or putting some thin weather stripping on the surfaces between the cabinet and the removable lid.
