    Anybody still use Graphite Necks?

This beautiful Status Streamline has been the only bass I've been using for the past few years. Every time I pick up another bass I'm reminded why I paid so much for it (it's ridiculously light and well balanced), and when I plug in and play I'm reminded why I keep using the Status - the tone...

    Microtubes X

Can't believe the instagram announcement for this came the day after I decided to order a dual band crossover+compressor pedal to use with my darkglass distortions. Oh well.

    "Official" Genz Benz club V2

Wow it's great to be able to hear from the man himself! Thanks for the suggestion. May I also just take a moment to say that this amp has been my favourite for bringing out fretless mwah? I tend to do a more aggressive sound these days but it's always great to have it on hand.

    "Official" Genz Benz club V2

Is there any pedal preamp similar to the genz benz shuttle preamp? I really like the sound of the shuttle, but I can't bring it with me everywhere since I only need it for certain specific uses.

Advice wanted: FEA dual band compressor (DB CL)

@boomertech got it, thanks! That should probably be fine I think.

Advice wanted: FEA dual band compressor (DB CL)

Hi @boomertech, Wow that's a lot of detailed info! I totally forgot about the possibility of a phase shift. "The internal 12dB/oct x-over rotates the signals by up to +90 degrees on the highs and -90 degrees on the lows. So, the two signals can be a total of 180 degrees apart at the crossover...

Advice wanted: FEA dual band compressor (DB CL)

I was going to post this in the FEA fan club thread until I realised the last post was ages ago... well anyway. I was thinking of getting both a crossover blend as well as a new compressor and I realised the FEA DB-CL might be what I need. However, before I actually order one, I figure I should...

Having hard time choosing my first distortion pedal

I'm a big fan of both brands. However, somehow, whatever I do, my Darkglass B7K and alpha omega just end up working out better during rehearsals and live for me. I don't know why, but somehow the darkglass pedals seemed to fit my band's mix better, the aftershock kept getting lost and requiring...

Darkglass Microtubes 900 Class D Amp

You're right, I just tested at rehearsal and realised I got confused. I knew there was a reason why I couldn't just use the drive knob but haven't done so in months, finally remembered it's because even turning drive completely counter-clockwise doesn't completely silence the amp, thus I needed...

Darkglass Microtubes 900 Class D Amp

That seems likes a pretty good idea. I'll give it a try. A passive vol should probably work. $$ ):

Darkglass Microtubes 900 Class D Amp

Wouldn't it sound quite different due to cab response? It's worth a try definitely, just not sure how well that works. Also, perhaps this is a dumb question, but would having that plus vocals and sometimes guitars on the same system affect clarity? (Guitarist also sometimes goes through PA since...

Darkglass Microtubes 900 Class D Amp

I haven't been around talkbass in forever, but I need some advice on this amp. Apologies if this is something that's already beaten to death around here! Ok so I'm really happy with this amp, spent the past year tracking my band's new album with it and using it for pretty much everything...

    Darkglass - Alpha Omega

Finally got to use it in a high volume setting. I thought I'd just use it for certain sections but I ended up having it as an always-on effect. As some others have noted, it does seem to excel when plugged in direct. Somehow it just sounds so much tighter and more epic when I send it direct to...

Darkglass Microtubes 900 Class D Amp

I send mine into an ampeg fridge at my rehearsal venue. I believe it's probably the classic series.
