    In praise of inexpensive basses

As jmlee said, this is a good era to be buying an instrument. Demand is higher than ever now that the internet is at everybody's fingertips, and the global economy allows us to have quality instruments made overseas very inexpensively. Personally I'm just a hobby player and a garage band...

FS: 2008 Fender MIA P-Bass with HSC, in Arizona

Hi, I'd like to offer my Precision Bass for sale. It's a 2008 Fender American Standard. The first year of all the sweeping improvements that Fender made to the American Standard line. The neck is nearly flawless, the body has a few small scratches and dings in the paint. It is strung with a...

Beginner came in and spent over $6K tonight

I say good for him. It's not like driving cars, where buying a $100K sports car for a beginner means he's going to crash it and kill himself. If he can afford to buy high-end instruments, he should. At his age he's probably got the money to spare.

Ash Precision Bass with Rosewood fretboard??

Find a used FSR P-bass. To my knowledge they don't make them anymore but there should be plenty floating around. They were MIM basses with ash body, clear finish, and rosewood fretboard. I sold mine on here a few years ago.

The Official Fender Precision Bass Club (Part 8)

Thanks ShowLow! I'm really excited for it. I bought it in person but I'm not allowed to pick it up until next week because Guitar Center had JUST bought it and they have to hold it for 10 days in case of stolen goods, etc. My baby's only five miles away and I can't have her. :bawl: That's...

The Official Fender Precision Bass Club (Part 8)

About to be re-joining this club. I just bought an '08 MIA P with factory HSC for $799 plus tax from Guitar Denter. Black and maple. How'd I do on the price? I know I've seen MIAs go for less, but this one spoke to me. I haven't owned a Fender P in years. :bassist: Will post pictures when I take...

no back jack inputs on bass cab

Interesting... why do they do that? Is it to save money and labor on the factory's part, or is it so the customer can configure his jack plate the way he wants it? Or neither of the above?

FENDER USA REFUSE TO GIVE BYRON LEE MILLER A BASS

:rollno: Okay, go out on the streets and ask everybody you encounter if they know who is Byron Lee Miller. ;) Fender is a business, they do what is best for them. If it is in their best interests to ignore this Miller guy and focus their time on other artists, then that is what they do.

FENDER USA REFUSE TO GIVE BYRON LEE MILLER A BASS

You do realize that in America, businesses are not obligated to give free goods to anybody simply because the masses say so?

    Ed Friedland's 1-2-4 fingering technique

I use 1-2-4 down low on my 35". Other than that I use 1-2-3-4. Whatever works for you. There's no right or wrong way to make music.:)

    My 70's Harmony P-Bass

It's pretty obvious that it's not a Fender, so what's the problem?

    Multiple job interview etiquette.

No no, I realize that, but the reason for my conflict was a scenario like the below quote vvv Say I do get a job offer before I hear back either way from the other company, which I really would prefer to work for. I know that if I fidget and hesitate and say "well, gee, uhhhh..." then I would...

    Multiple job interview etiquette.

All good posts, thank you everyone. The reason I was reluctant to post the industry is because I've already identified that I live in Phoenix in my profile, and with the proliferation of internet and social networking nowadays I don't want to out myself to a potential employer. :) I'm still...
