I've got a Zoom B3n and a Focusrite Scarlett Solo 2 and am about to throw the Solo 2 off a bridge. Trying to simply record bass --> Audacity, running on a MacBookPro, and failing, hard. Removing the Zoom from the equation still gives the same problems: 1. While Solo plugged in / powered up...

I've found trying to do that results in some very snapped guitar strings. :-)

A quick Google endeavour has been unfruitful, but does anyone know if anybody sells piccolo bass strings in anything other than roundwounds?? Would love a set of flats, or semi-rounds. Cheers, Chris

Hi folks, If one is tuning a cello in fourths, with a purpose-specific EADG set of strings, are these gauged/tensioned to provide the same pitch as a bass, or one octave higher? Cheers! Chris

Tried some flatwound guitar strings... moderately high tension on the lower 3 strings, but the G-string wasn't up to it... too much tension. Looks like I'm stuck with roundwound piccolo strings.

Both good options. For what it's worth my first bass was a Squier Modified 70's Jazz Bass, and with some flatwound strings and adjustment of the action, it is beautiful to play.
