Yup, a Shergold 6 string bass. Loved Hooky's sound. Too thin on the ground to try one out so converted an old Columbus 4 string EB0 copy (my first bass) to a six string to see if I liked the concept. I did! Bought the Shergold brand new and still have it, a mere 41 years later!

Resurrecting an oldish thread, but... Given that active pickups and active preamps both need a voltage source, is there any difference in wiring both into the same power supply or giving each a separate supply? I have room on the bass for two 9v batteries. Should I consider an 18v system...

Most Shergolds (those up to the very last years) used obeche as a body wood. I've never heard of anyone who ever played one moan about it, most think that they feel/play/sound fantastic... I own 5 of their basses (although the latest one is Ash bodied, I think) and to me they sound great!

I'd forgotten I'd posted on this earlier. Put them on, lasted a few days before the teeth broke off on the one I used for the e string. Poor quality to say the least. Got my money back from Amazon though. Bit the bullet and bought Schallers...
