    Gibson EB-0 fretboard removal

Hi guys, first time on the BG side of the house for me, couldn't find any forum history on this one. I have a friend's EB-0 slothead on the bench, trussrod has become unattached at the body end and will require a fretboard removal. Before I do the usual stuff I thought I would see if...

Double Bass Kay Thin Model Basses

I have had my 1937 S-5 swingmaster for almost a year, and am amazed at the sound compared to full dimensioned basses. I have been told that the main reason for the smaller size was better portability, and can say that it really is easier to haul around. Had to put a cushion in the gig bag to...

    Double Bass bass? cello?

I nice example of using a 'cello for playing a bassline is what Norman Blakes wife does behind his flatpicking. There are examples in the jazz world as well, don't know if they retuned the instrument but probably did. Nice light sound.

Double Bass What's the weight of your bass?

My 1937 Kay Swingmaster S-5 (the thin model) tips the scales at 20.5 lbs. Didn't think to weigh the M-1 I sold earlier, but it seemed a lot heavier to carry around compared to this one..... NWD
