    Midwest Worship bassist GTG????

or Kansas City, always plenty of Jazz and the best BBQ, not to mention it's just about smack in the middle of the country... I probably wouldn't be able to make it to Chicago or anywhere out of town this time, just having a one month old baby, but otherwise sounds fun- Steven

anything comparable to the POD XT?

So, I've noticed that the POD XT has been discontinued, or at least from most retailers I've checked at. I'm talking about the oval shaped, $300 model- as to eliminate any confusion. I know I could get it used, but I'm wondering if there is anything comparable as far as amp and cab...

    Lakland sound question

I recently bought a used JoBo Skyline 5 in excellent condition and paid $900 for it. I was considering putting a pre for it so if you get that one, let me know how it sounds.

    Getting rid of the boom.....

I feel you man. I too use in-ears, every day in fact, and travel once a month to play in churches, some with really nice FOH systems and I'm always frustrated with this issue of boom. I ususally go direct with my Radial Bassbone and have something like a SWR or Ampeg with a 4x10 for...

    Headphone amp/mixer help

I've never used the Raven Labs, but my experience with the rolls is at least comparible to any sound that comes out of a decent wedge monitor, barring you have decent headphones or in-ears. I think it mostly depends on the quality of sounds going into the board as to what is coming back to the...

    Headphone amp/mixer help

yep, I've run into that problem a number of times. We now use Avioms with in-ears which is a really nice set-up, but understandably expensive. I have used a couple of different heaphone amps including the rolls ($50), presonus, and furman. The cheapest route would probably be a little...

Need a list of Overdrives with a blend control

The Sansamp Bass Driver is not an overdrive pedal. It has a drive function on it, but the blend control has nothing to do with the amount of overdrive, it blends the amount of direct signal to a simulated tube.. So, are you looking for a clean tubed blend? or a blend between clean and...

Need a list of Overdrives with a blend control

A clean blend is no different than keeping the drive at minimum with the pedal engaged. As with most overdrive pedals the amount of "blending" is determined by the amount of drive.

Need a list of Overdrives with a blend control

EBS Valvedrive- which actually has a tube and powerful eq I just got the Sansamp VT by recommendation and it's quite a versitile little pedal capable of getting thick and nasty overdrive also with a powerful eq.

Warwick Basses - tis better to have actives or passive pickups?

Active pickups are quite rare. Almost every bass made today has passive pickups. Basses with a preamp require a battery to operate it which deems the bass an "active bass", not "active pickups".

    Amp/Cab Simulation

Well all the positive feedback got the best of me... So far I'm really diggin VT and find myself mostly with the character knob around 12 o'clock in the "flip-top" setting, but I still need more time to experiment. The pedal definitely has some serious drive to it. I am kinda bummed...

    Strings-Thru-Body or Topload?

Well for me (and slightly off the relevant topic), as much as I play, I can't afford to buy a nice set of strings every two weeks so, I boil them at least a couple times before they expire completely which means stringing them through the bridge is much easier to remove and restring them after a...

    Amp/Cab Simulation

Good to know. I finally found a bit more info at Bass Emporium's site, but it's always nice to hear first hand from someone who knows tone.
