    Ibanez vs squire for metal

I didnt care for the dean basses either but the schecters I tried were nice. They had a used red schecter diamond series bass when I went to guitar center that looked, sounded, and felt AWESOME! But I didnt have the cash... The type of metal we'd be playing would be mostly nu metal and...

I wouldn't be going below a drop c ^^ most of the songs would be in drop c when we play metal though. Would a 5ver make bass harder to learn than a four?

@CM63 do you think a squier neck would fit on an ibanez body?

Onto the topic at hand though. Take it from a guy who plays a lot of metal. Just about ANY bass will work. It's all in the EQ. What matters is what YOU like and how you want to sit in the mix. What's YOUR tone, or rather, the one you're after? Do you want to punch through the mix? Blend into it...

@VanillaThundah I see a future buisiness opportunity here. Thanks for all the opinions. I'm going back to gc again to double check my choices and im definitely gonna try before I buy. I'll bring my friend to play and show me what to look for in a bass and hopefully I'll walk home with one this...

    Ibanez vs squire for metal

I've tried both an ibanez and a squier p, pj, and j bass...and im stuck. Ive tried to get a bass several times and ended up not getting it due to sudden expenses and guitar center making me jump through hoops to get my used bass that eventaully led to a refund and a bassless me. But ive been...

So I ordered my first bass off guitar center used and they have had the order pending for 6 days! I ordered with paypal and according to their website its not subject to the 10 day hold. Has anyone else had this issue? Is it normal because I didnt use a credit card? If not I will call by the end...

So I saw My Chemical Romance broke up.....

I really loved these guys and got into them while they were still together but never got the chance to see them live because everyone had told me they'd broken up. They have some really cool songs and an amazing stage presence (at least thats what I get off youtube) and I really like Gerrard's...

FUJIGEN SHOWS OWN GUITARS AT NAMM!

The new clean vocalist in Of Mice and Men has one of these bad boys. It looks and sounds fantastic especially since I saw it used in a metal band major +1. When I saw it I knew I just had to have it. An a for AP=new bass :D.

Haha its alright I still welcome all the good advice and suggestions. Havent bought the amp or the bass yet :/. I was surprised the thread was still going, but good advise keeps coming and its a good view of all sides amp vs no amp vs headphone amp, and its interesting to see what everyone says.

Beginner practice amp is it worth it?

Thanks for the amp link just for the time being I'd rather have the headphone amp to at least start and get the job done then get a better amp later. Nothing huge just something a bit better than that one :/ that way I dont have to worry about selling it for more gear if I continue on (which I...
