Hello everyone, I was wondering if there is anyone on TB who can make a pickguard for my Fender AVRI '74 jazz bass? I have been searching online for one but I dont want to order something that just isn't going to fit. Does anyone make them or know of someone on TB who could make one? Thanks...

After I got over my Chris Squire/Geddy Lee phase in about 2017, I switched exclusively to Flatwounds and have only used them since.

The one thing I wish they would have left off is the amber tinted headstock face. The AVRI 74's had the same amberish hue on the headstock face as well. The nitro aged on the original 70s basses to that point, they didn't come from the factory like that.

I would definitely get an ashtray cover to put back on over the bridge. I love ashtrays and since it already has the holes, why not? I can say that I haven't ever seen a fender case like that before but I really dig it!

One thing that I have noticed over the years is that not only did the pickup play a part in the sounds that were coming from those Ps but also the entire wiring harness and pots as well. If you're really after that vintage tone you may want to consider that as part of the equation as well.

Not everybody is trying to achieve the same things you are. We are all different players and that's just how it is.
