Can anyone here make a custom pickguard?

Hello everyone, I was wondering if there is anyone on TB who can make a pickguard for my Fender AVRI '74 jazz bass? I have been searching online for one but I dont want to order something that just isn't going to fit. Does anyone make them or know of someone on TB who could make one? Thanks...

    Flatwounds vs Roundwounds in 2025

After I got over my Chris Squire/Geddy Lee phase in about 2017, I switched exclusively to Flatwounds and have only used them since.

    Fender American Original Seventies Jazz

The one thing I wish they would have left off is the amber tinted headstock face. The AVRI 74's had the same amberish hue on the headstock face as well. The nitro aged on the original 70s basses to that point, they didn't come from the factory like that.

    Flatwound Obsession

Labella LTF's are hands down the best bass string I think I have ever played. I was on the 760FL train for awhile before trying them and I wish I would have tried them earlier. I really don't see myself ever needing another type of string, I have been using flats since I was probably about 15...

Cobalts or LaBellas on a Precision

Came here to say this, one of the best sets of strings I've ever played.

My Rickenbacker does not sound like a Rick!?

One thing I will say is that the Ric in that video has the 1/2 inch neck pickup spacing from the neck like the 60s and early 70s Rics had. The 2005 one you have would most definitely have the full 1 inch spacing between the neck pickup and neck. I personally think there is a slight warmth from...

SOLD Fender Vintera '70s Telecaster Bass

Hey guys, I have a pretty much brand new Vintera '70s Telecaster Bass. I just bought it a month or so ago from Fuller Vintage Guitar in Houston. I never took off the plastic on any of the pieces and it has been living in its bag when I'm not using it. This is a really cool bass, super fat...

NBD - pawn shop MIM Precision Bass

I would definitely get an ashtray cover to put back on over the bridge. I love ashtrays and since it already has the holes, why not? I can say that I haven't ever seen a fender case like that before but I really dig it!

Who makes a great 70’s p bass pickup?

One thing that I have noticed over the years is that not only did the pickup play a part in the sounds that were coming from those Ps but also the entire wiring harness and pots as well. If you're really after that vintage tone you may want to consider that as part of the equation as well.
