    Most shows I don't wear shoes. I used to wear moccasins all the time that my feet would more around in and got into the habit from there.

    flat metal versus round metal

    Rounds are better for metal in general. When I used to use flat on my jazz I felt like I was fighting a losing battle to cut through the whole time, even with a cab with a tweeter.

    I have an Avatar 4x10 and I love it. If you want something inexpensive, great sounding, and durable the Avatar would be my vote.

    See if you can find a Dipinto Belvedere. I love mine, lots of old school growl and it gets really thumpy on the neck pickup.

    When you're dealing with a material as inconsistent as wood your best bet is to play a bunch and see how they feel and sound. There are amazing Squiers and awful American Standards.

    I meant Emperor is aiming more for the vibe of those cabs than more modern designs. And my Who comment was referring to John Entwhistle playing through essentially guitar cabinets.

    Can stop arguing about this? The reality is the Bill is right in saying that in modern terms Emperor cabs are poorly designed. But in general these cabs are supposed to be more like the old cabs of the 60's and 70's which weren't perfectly designed. And the people who buy them expect that...

    Earplugtings

    I use the Hearos High Fidelity plugs (which according to everything I've read online are rebranded ER-20s). Really close to flat response to my ears for way less than custom molds. They don't have huge attenuation though, so for really loud shows you might still prefer the foam plugs.
