    Strings For a Fretless

Chromes are nice and bright if you want flats with a "round" sound but will still be warmer than nickel round-wounds. Had DR sunbeams on my fretless for a while and liked them a lot, then had chromes and liked them even more currently got a set of d'addario tapewounds on and at the moment I love...

    Comparing F112 + BB2

Doesn't have hpf but you can set xover if running 2 cabs - the idea being that one gets the highs while the other gets the lows - so might be possible to set it crazy low and treat it as a hpf (but wouldn't be able to use in bridged mode). Would need to have a look at it in daylight to double...

    TC RH450 Club

had an rh450 for a few years now and have always loved it! Almost got an OTB500 but was put off by the lack of control over the mids (therefore shortage of tones available). Was running an rs210 through it but treated myself to an f112 (which is as good as they say btw). I've been pushing the...

NBD (for the second time) - Cort Curbow

They only seem to turn up second hand on a few UK sites now (and a lot of those are already sold). Seeing all the regrets from people that have let their Curnow's go in the past I think I'll definitely hold onto my copy

NBD (for the second time) - Cort Curbow

while not a true cort curbow I picked up this "Hudson project bass fretless 5" on eBay a few years ago. Looks like they basically stole the shape/design for it... nice and light, really smooth and easy to play! Natural wood finish and through neck on this one. Love the sound that comes out of...

    Comparing F112 + BB2

Recently got myself a Trickyaudio built f112, love it! World of difference from my previous cab (Tc rs210), much clearer and plenty more top and bottom in comparison. Despite that I do find myself wanting a little more volume out of it at times. I realise the gold standard is to pair it with a...

    What's your favorite Roundwound?

big fan of d'addario pro-steels as I like the brightness and the twang when slapping but can easily picture them being too sharp for some. DR sunbeams are fantastic for a more mellow tone - had a set on my fretless before moving to flats and they were great ☺

2017- What's on your GAS List?

when I first saw the term "GAS" I thought it meant something new and desirable had been seen and people were "going ape sh*t" over it. Amounts to the same thing I guess once I've got new car/important house stuff out of the way I'll be chasing a gk mb800 and a fEARful cab or two to go with it.

    D Standard Club (DGCF)

Currently playing a Yamaha trb1005 with daddario heavy guage prosteels dropped to ADGCF. love the brightness of the prosteels - really helps cut through the mix when I'm slapping over the guitars thrashing

    What excites you about strings?

Used to coast about trying whatever strings I could find/afford - during which time I found elixirs once and really liked them (50-105) got fed up of Ernie ball strings (dull very quickly, break quite easily, not my cup of tea). For the past few years I've been a solid d'addario fan and...

    I am a 210 vertical stack believer!!

Been rolling round the forum reading up on 210 vertical (and it's got me swinging more that way than standard 410 now) but not seen much about low end response for 5string basses. Have seen that TC BC212's can be stacked vertically and have the better low end response but do people here think...

    Hartke Hydrive 410 + Orange Terror Bass 500 = !!!

This is the setup I'm considering atm, how are you finding it? Nice range of tone/decent headroom? How is it with the low end?

looking to get new amp - info/help needed

Hi there, New to TB but this seemed like the best place to pose the question. I'm about to upgrade my amp and need some pointers on what to go for. I've been playing a torque 200w combo with a single 15" speaker for the past 13 years and now going for a stack. I play metal with a fair bit of...
