Hartke Hydrive 410 + Orange Terror Bass 500 = !!!

I finally bought a Hartke Hydrive 410 cab today after convincing myself over the past year that smaller 112 cabs were getting the job done with my Orange Terror Bass 500. Man oh man, the pairing of these two beast brings some serious thunder. I can't wait to try it out at our next show. I can finally release the Kracken on my Orange amp. Anyone else use this combo? Please share your thoughts and experience. I'd be interested to read about it.

Also, both cab and amp have two Speakon inputs/outputs on the back. I don't get the whole +1, -1, +2, -2 thing. Using my Lava Speakon cable, does it matter which output/input I use? Is +1 supposed to connect to -1? If so, how can I tell what is what?

Bottom line: Can I just connect the amp to the cab without worrying which output/input I'm using?

If both amp and cab have Speakons you just connect the two together.

We have 7 shows this month and I just tried this setup last night for the first time. First off, it was loud. I play in a hard, heavy band with a hard-hitting drummer and one guitarist. I had the volume at 9 o'clock and it was plenty loud with the Gain at 11 o'clock. Granted we played in a small bar in front of a fairly small crowd (Tue night at 10:30pm). Not a lot of bodies to absorb the bass, but I had plenty of low end and was very pleased with the tone.

We have another show on Sat night at a much bigger club on a 5-band bill. I imagine I'll get to crank it a bit more at this show and get a better idea of what it can do.

This is my exact rig with an Epi Thunderbird with Black Beauties. I love it! I keep the Gain around Noon-1pm, and depending on whether it's just me and 1 guitarist writing/arranging, or if it's 2 guitars and the drummer, my volume can go from 9-11 (at which point I have plugs in).
I think right now, I've got the horns set to -5db. And it really kicks through the guitars (one really likes a bass-y guitar sound). So no problem being heard and felt.

It's loud, it sounds great. And I paid $600 for the whole rig, so I lucked out big time. I'm considering adding a Darkglass B7k or B3k to it to see how it modifies the sound, but I'm already happy with it, so I may just save my duckets for awhile...

Glad you enjoy the setup. It's a strange combo, but hit damn it works!
